Quick answer: The highest RTP slots online are Ugga Bugga (99.07%), Book of 99 (99%), Mega Joker (up to 99%), 1429 Uncharted Seas (98.6%) and Marching Legions (98.12%). RTP, or return to player, is the share of all money bet that a slot is designed to pay back over millions of spins. A higher RTP means a smaller house edge, so your money tends to last longer. It does not guarantee a win in any single session.

RTPs are the figures published for each game’s standard version. Many slots come in several RTP versions and the casino chooses which one to run, so always check the game’s info screen. Where reviews disagree on a figure, we show a range.
1. Ugga Bugga (Playtech): 99.07%
Ugga Bugga from Playtech is regularly listed as the highest RTP slot you can play online, at 99.07%. It is not as widely stocked as the big modern hits, so search the casino lobby by name and check the RTP in the game’s info screen.
2. Book of 99 (Relax Gaming): 99%
Book of 99 takes the popular “Book of” formula to Ancient Greece. Instead of waiting for three scatters, you collect wilds: once you have collected 99, you get 10 free spins with an expanding symbol. Reviews put its maximum win at 12,075x your bet, and its volatility is high, so expect long quiet spells between big hits.
3. Mega Joker (NetEnt): up to 99%
Mega Joker is a classic fruit machine with a twist. Wins in the base game can be moved into the Supermeter, a top set of reels where you bet higher amounts. The headline 99% RTP applies when you play in Supermeter mode with the best strategy; the base game alone returns much less. Read the game’s help screen before you play, because the strategy matters here.
4. 1429 Uncharted Seas (Thunderkick): 98.6%
A sea-exploration slot from Swedish studio Thunderkick. With a 98.6% RTP it is one of the best-paying modern video slots, and a good choice if you want a high return without the old-school fruit-machine look of Mega Joker.
5. Marching Legions (Relax Gaming): 98.12%
A Roman-themed slot from Relax Gaming with a 98.12% RTP. Reviews disagree on its maximum win, so check the paytable at your casino for the exact figure.
6. Blood Suckers (NetEnt): about 98%
NetEnt’s vampire-hunting classic has been a favourite for years because of its low volatility and RTP of about 98% (usually listed as 97.99% or 98%). Wins are small but frequent, which makes it popular for clearing bonus wagering. The bonus game lets you pick coffins for cash prizes.
7. Money Cart 2 (Relax Gaming): 98%
The sequel to Relax Gaming’s Money Cart, built around a cash-collecting bonus round. Its 98% RTP puts it near the top of any list of high-paying modern slots. The original Money Cart is also listed at 98%.
8. Starmania (NextGen, now Light & Wonder): about 97.9%
A space-themed slot, listed at 97.86% to 97.87% depending on the source. It is a solid pick if you want a high RTP from a well-known studio.
9. White Rabbit Megaways (Big Time Gaming): 97.2% to 97.7%
An Alice in Wonderland Megaways slot where caterpillar wilds can extend the reels for more ways to win, and free spins let the reels grow even bigger. Big Time Gaming published more than one RTP version, which is why you’ll see figures from about 97.2% to 97.7%.
RTP of popular slots you probably know
The most famous slots are not always the best-paying. Here is how some big names compare:
| Slot | Provider | Standard RTP | Volatility |
|---|---|---|---|
| Big Bass Bonanza | Pragmatic Play | 96.71% | Medium-high |
| Buffalo King Megaways | Pragmatic Play | 96.52% | High |
| Gates of Olympus | Pragmatic Play | 96.50% | High |
| Book of Dead | Play’n GO | 96.21% | High |
| Starburst | NetEnt | 96.09% | Low |
| Wolf Gold | Pragmatic Play | 96.01% | Medium |
| Bonanza Megaways | Big Time Gaming | 96.00% | High |
| Gonzo’s Quest | NetEnt | 95.97% | Medium |
| Jackpot Giant | Playtech | 94.22% | Medium |
| Mega Moolah | Games Global | About 88% base game | High |
Progressive jackpot slots such as Mega Moolah have lower RTPs because part of every bet feeds the jackpot. See our guide to progressive jackpot slots for when that trade-off makes sense.
What RTP really means
RTP is a long-run average worked out over millions of spins. A slot with a 99% RTP is designed to return about $99 for every $100 wagered across all players, over its whole life. Your own results over an evening can be far above or below that, because every spin is random.
- House edge = 100% minus RTP. A 96% slot has a 4% house edge; a 99% slot has a 1% house edge. That difference adds up fast: on $1,000 of total bets, the expected cost is about $40 versus $10.
- RTP is not a hit rate. It tells you how much comes back on average, not how often you win.
- Short sessions are unpredictable. A 99% slot can still empty a balance quickly, and a 94% slot can pay a big win on the first spin.
RTP vs volatility: which matters more?
Both matter, but for different things. RTP decides how much you lose on average over time. Volatility decides how bumpy the ride is: low-volatility slots pay small wins often, while high-volatility slots pay rarely but bigger.
| Your goal | Look for | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Small budget, long sessions | High RTP, low volatility | Blood Suckers, 1429 Uncharted Seas, Starburst |
| Chasing a big win | High RTP, high volatility | Book of 99, White Rabbit Megaways |
| Clearing a bonus | High RTP, low volatility (if the slot counts) | Blood Suckers |
| Life-changing jackpot | Accept a lower RTP | Mega Moolah |
Why the same slot can have a different RTP
Many providers release a slot in several RTP versions, for example 96.5%, 94.5% and 92.5%, and each casino chooses which version to offer. Gates of Olympus and Book of Dead are well-known examples. That is why one casino’s version of a game can pay back less than another’s. Some bonus-buy features also have their own RTP.
How to check a slot’s RTP
- Open the game and tap the i, menu or paytable button.
- Look in the rules or game information for “RTP”, “theoretical return” or “payout percentage”.
- Compare it with the provider’s standard figure in the tables above. If it is lower, you are playing a reduced version.
- If you can’t find the RTP at all, consider playing a different game.
How to get the most from high-RTP slots
- Play at a casino that pays out fast. A high RTP means little if you wait weeks for a withdrawal. See our best payout casinos.
- Check bonus terms. Some casinos exclude high-RTP slots from bonus wagering or count them at a lower rate.
- Match volatility to your budget. With a small balance, low-volatility games last longer.
- Ignore “hot” and “cold” machines. Every spin is independent. Our slot myths guide explains why.
- Set a limit before you start. Even a 99% RTP slot has a house edge. Read our tips to win at slots for more.

Highest RTP slots FAQs
Which slot has the highest RTP?
Among widely available online slots, Ugga Bugga by Playtech (99.07%), Book of 99 by Relax Gaming (99%) and Mega Joker by NetEnt (up to 99% in Supermeter mode) are usually listed at the top.
Do high RTP slots pay out more?
Over a very long period, yes: a 99% slot returns more on average than a 94% slot. In a single session, luck matters far more than RTP.
What is a good RTP for a slot?
96% or higher is generally seen as good for online slots. Anything above 97.5% is excellent.
Can a casino change a slot’s RTP?
A casino can choose which RTP version of a game to offer, but it can’t change the odds while you play. In regulated markets, game versions are tested and certified.
Are online slots better than land-based slots?
Online slots usually publish their RTP, and many sit between 94% and 97%. Land-based machines vary widely and often don’t show their RTP at all.
Is there a strategy to win at high RTP slots?
No strategy beats a slot’s house edge, because every spin is random. Mega Joker is a rare exception where the way you play the Supermeter affects the return.
Important: check your local laws before you play
Online gambling laws differ from country to country, and in some places it is restricted or not permitted at all. Before you sign up to any casino listed on UltraGambler, check that online gambling is legal where you live and that the casino accepts players from your country. You must be 18 or older (or the legal gambling age in your country, if higher) to play. Only gamble with money you can afford to lose.
