South-London-based QPR welcome south-Yorkshire side Barnsley to Loftus Road on the third Saturday of the English Football League Championship.
Queens Park Rangers will be ecstatic with their start to the season, currently sat in second place having drawn 1-1 at home against Millwall and beaten Hull 0-3 away from home, scoring four goals and conceding just one in the process.
QPR also managed to see off League Two side Leyton Orient in the first round of the English Football League Cup, although it did have to come down to a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes. This means they will now face Oxford United at Loftus Road in the 1/32 finals.
Barnsley have also managed to acquire 4 points from their first two games, drawing 1-1 away at Cardiff City before beating Coventry 1-0 at home, leaving them in ninth place in the table but on equal points with all of the top 10 teams.
However, Barnsley did lose against Bolton at The University Of Bolton Stadium in the EFL Cup after the match came down to penalties. Bolton will go on to play Wigan Athletic in the next round of the cup.
Head to head, Barnsley have got the better of QPR on the last four occasions. Last season, Barnsley won their home fixture 3-0 before beating QPR 1-3 away at Loftus Road.
