Leeds United travel to Lancashire to face Burnley at Turf Moor in the third round of this Premier League campaign on Sunday the 29th of August 2021.
Burnley have had an unsatisfactory start to their Premier League season. They began their campaign with a 1-2 loss at home to Brighton and Hove Albion before losing 2-0 to Liverpool at Anfield.
Burnley did however win their EFL Cup match against Newcastle United, although they did have to win a penalty shootout to progress after both teams failed to score within the 90 minutes. Burnley will be happy to have drawn a home fixture against League Two side Rochdale, which could set them up nicely for a cup run.
Leeds United have also yet to attain their first win of the season after the opening two fixtures, however they have managed to get a point on the board. Leeds lost 5-1 to rivals Manchester United on the opening day of the season before drawing 2-2 with Everton at Elland Road.
Leeds knocked League One side Crewe Alexandra out of the EFL Cup on Tuesday night with a 3-0 victory, although they did leave it until the 79th minute to score the first goal. Leeds face a trip to a strong Championship side, Fulham, in the next round towards the end of September.
Head to head, it was Leeds United that got the better of the two sides in their Premier League fixtures last season. They won the home leg 1-0 at Elland Road, before attaining a comfortable 0-4 away win at Turf Moor. Burnley haven’t beaten Leeds since a 1-0 home win in the English Football League Championship in 2016.

It’s a great time of year to bet on who you think might win the Premier League title this season as well. Manchester City remain favourites regardless of their defeat to Tottenham, with Chelsea close behind as second-favourites followed by the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United:
