Quick verdict: Gemix is a medium-volatility Play’n GO cluster slot from December 2014, with a 7×7 grid, an RTP of up to about 96.8% and a max win of roughly 4,500x (sources differ). Clearing gems fills a Crystal Charge meter that fires one of four board-changing effects, and you travel through three worlds that each have their own wild feature.

How does the Crystal Charge work?
Every gem removed in a win fills the Crystal Charge meter. Clear 20 or more in one round and one of four effects fires at random:
- Chain Lightning: two opposite corner gems arc lightning across the board and convert the gems it hits.
- Light Beam: the row and column from one gem are transformed.
- Crystal Warp: one type of gem warps into another.
- Nova Blast: a gem explodes, clears its neighbours and leaves a core of one gem type.
The meter can charge again in the same round. If you clear 40 or more gems in one round, Super Charge multiplies every win in that round by 3, once per round.
What are the Gemix worlds?
The game has three worlds, Miner, Princess and Wizard, each with 3 patterns of highlighted positions. Winning on those positions clears a pattern, and clearing all three moves you to the next world and pays the World Bonus, which grows with every win you make there. On non-winning rounds, each world can add wilds: the Miner drops up to 10 wilds, the Princess turns an edge gem wild and spreads it to the opposite edge, and the Wizard adds up to 8 sticky wilds.
Is Gemix worth playing?
It is a good choice if you like progress features more than free spins. Medium volatility and constant cascades keep it moving, and the top gem pays 1,000x for a cluster of 15 or more stars. It is an older game, though: the sequels Gemix 2 (2021) and Gemix 100 (2024) offer far higher caps, with 7,500x and 25,000x listed.
Tips for playing Gemix
- The World Bonus grows with every win and pays when you complete a world, so it rewards steady play in one world.
- Crystal Charge needs 20 gems in one round, so long cascade chains matter more than single big clusters.
- Non-winning rounds are not wasted: each world can add wilds on them, up to 10 in the Miner world.
- Check for 96.83% in the info screen; the 94.78% version looks identical.
