- Trigger: land a ship scatter on each of reels 1, 3 and 5.
- Spins: you get 10 free spins.
- Ships as wilds: during the free spins the ships also act as wilds, which makes line wins easier to complete.
- Retrigger: three ships again during the round add more free spins.
How do the wild and the gamble work?
- Columbus wild: Columbus substitutes for every symbol except the ships and is also the top-paying symbol: 5 on a line pay 5,000x your line bet.
- Gamble: after a win you can guess whether a hidden card is red or black to double it, or lose the win if you guess wrong.

Tips for playing Columbus Deluxe
- Check the RTP in the game rules: most sources say 95.02%, but at least one lists 97.03%.
- All three ships must land on reels 1, 3 and 5 in the same spin to start the free spins.
- The gamble feature is a 50/50 guess that can wipe out a win; use it sparingly.
- With low to medium volatility, it suits longer sessions at a modest stake.
