Skulls Up! slot starts with a standard 5×3 grid, offering 243 ways to win. However, the game’s unique mechanics allow the reels to expand up to 6 rows high, increasing the potential ways to win to 1,944. This expansion is central to the game’s engaging features and big win potential.
Symbols and Payouts
The reels are adorned with a vibrant cast of characters and symbols:
- High-Paying Symbols: Captain No-Beard (20x for five), Biggie, Smelly, Wrench the monkey, and Biscuit the parrot.
- Low-Paying Symbols: Wooden blocks representing card values 10 through A.
- Wild Symbols:
- Skull Wild: Substitutes for all symbols except the Scatter and Flaming Skull Wild.
- Flaming Skull Wild: Triggers the Flaming Respin feature and substitutes for all symbols except the Scatter.
- Scatter Symbol: Treasure Chest, which activates the Flaming Free Spins feature when three appear anywhere on the reels.
Flaming Respin Feature
Landing a Flaming Skull Wild initiates the Flaming Respin feature. Each Flaming Skull Wild opens an additional symbol position above its reel, expanding the reel height and increasing the number of ways to win.
The respins continue as long as new Flaming Skull Wilds appear on the reels. If a Flaming Skull Wild contributes to a winning combination, it transforms into a regular Skull Wild, and its flame extinguishes. This feature adds a dynamic layer to the gameplay, offering escalating excitement with each spin.
Flaming Free Spins Feature
Trigger the Flaming Free Spins feature by landing three Treasure Chest Scatter symbols, awarding 6 free spins. During this round, the Flaming Respin feature remains active, and any reel expansions achieved persist for the duration of the free spins. Additionally, for every reel that reaches the maximum height of 6 symbols, players receive 2 extra free spins, enhancing the potential for substantial rewards.
Visuals and Soundtrack
Skulls Up! boasts a vibrant, cartoon-style design set against a sun-soaked tropical island backdrop. The lively animations and engaging sound effects complement the adventurous theme, immersing players in the pirate world. The upbeat soundtrack and dynamic visuals create an entertaining atmosphere that keeps players engaged throughout their gaming session.
