Quick answer: For pure luxury, pick the Wynn or Bellagio. For big suites and shopping, the Venetian. For value and non-stop entertainment, the MGM Grand. All four sit on the Strip with large casinos. Prices change a lot by season and events, so compare rates before you book.

Wynn Las Vegas

Steve Wynn’s flagship opened in 2005 and is regularly ranked among the most luxurious hotels in Las Vegas. It has its own 18-hole golf course, the Wynn Golf Club. Expect an elegant casino with plenty of high-limit tables, top-end restaurants and a quieter, more polished feel than most of the Strip.
Bellagio

Bellagio is famous for its free Fountains of Bellagio shows on the lake out front and its Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, which change with the seasons. Its long-running Picasso restaurant closed after chef Julian Serrano retired, and the room reopened in 2025 as Carbone Riviera, which still shows works by Picasso, Miró and Renoir. Its casino is a classic spot for poker and high-stakes table games.
The Venetian

Sheldon Adelson’s Venetian opened in 1999, modelled on Venice, with gondola rides along the indoor Grand Canal Shoppes. Every room is a suite, which makes it good value for groups and families. Together with its sister property, The Palazzo, it is one of the largest hotel complexes in the world.
MGM Grand

MGM Grand is one of the biggest hotels in the US. It hosts boxing, UFC and concerts at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, has a large pool complex and is home to Joël Robuchon’s restaurant. It has a monorail stop and is usually cheaper than the luxury resorts further up the Strip.
Which Las Vegas hotel has the best casino?
There is no official “best” casino in Las Vegas, but on size, The Venetian and The Palazzo share about 225,000 sq ft of gaming space and Bellagio’s casino covers about 156,000 sq ft. Published sizes for the MGM Grand and Wynn Las Vegas casinos differ from source to source, so we do not quote them here. Size is only one measure: read the hotel sections above for what each resort offers.
When is the best time to visit Las Vegas?
- Spring and autumn: the most comfortable weather for walking the Strip.
- Summer: pool season, but daytime heat can be extreme.
- New Year’s Eve: fireworks over the Strip and the busiest, priciest nights of the year.
- Midweek: room rates are usually far lower than at weekends.
Tips for gambling in Vegas
- You must be 21 to gamble.
- Join the casino’s free players’ club before you play to earn comps.
- Playing slots? Official Nevada figures show Strip casinos keep more of slot play than the locals casinos off the Strip. See our guide to the loosest slots in Las Vegas.
- Look for blackjack tables that pay 3:2, not 6:5.
- Set a daily budget and leave your cards in the hotel safe.
- Read our low house edge guide before you hit the tables.
How much does a 6:5 blackjack table cost you?
Many Strip tables now pay 6:5 on a blackjack instead of the classic 3:2. It sounds like a small change, so we worked out what it costs on a $25 bet:
| Table pays | Your blackjack on a $25 bet pays |
|---|---|
| 3:2 | $37.50 |
| 6:5 | $30.00 |
| Difference | $7.50 less every time |
With six decks you get a blackjack about once every 21 hands (a 4.7% chance), and it is a push if the dealer has one too. That works out to about $0.34 lost per $25 hand, or 1.36% of every bet, in line with the extra 1.4% house edge that Las Vegas Advisor and Casino.org quote. Over 100 hands, that is about $34 gone just from the lower payout. If a casino only has 6:5 tables, find a 3:2 table at a lower limit or pick another game. Our blackjack basic strategy chart shows how to play each hand once you sit down.
